"Business development is not a luxury, it is an important part of every company's daily life and a need. In order for a company to stand firmly, it has to run very fast.". This is stated in the foreword of the Latvian State Business Development Platform.
As the customer base of Bikšu Baze grew, the variety of clothing expanded and the online store developed, the volume of daily activities also increased. That's why we started to be interested in "doing smarter" work in a clothing store and transferring it to a computer - connecting all existing systems, as well as automating the simplest and repetitive manual tasks. In order to start digital development, transformation, modernize SIA "Graudu lietus" retail store "Bikšu Bāze" and e-store www.biksubaze.lv, digitalize and standardize the existing core business processes, we started looking for information and evaluating the experience of other companies. During the research process, we learned about the European Union's support for business development and digital transformation.
Objectives of the digital transformation project:
* implement an electronic cash register system with a barcode scanner and a specialized warehouse system;
* ensure accurate and fast registration of sales data;
* digitize inventory of warehouse balances;
* use product labels with barcodes;
* digitally connect the e-store with the warehouse system.
Supplier selection criteria:
* offer price;
* functionality compatibility with the Shopify e-store;
* data restoration in the system in real time.
The chosen solution and the result of the project:
The solution of SIA "IBSC" - RESICO V1 5.0 cash register system and warehouse system RESICO with software was chosen as the most suitable for the needs of Bikšu Baze, because Resico is the cheapest and most suitable for business needs. In the warehouse system, it is possible to assign a variation (size, color) to the products, which is a mandatory requirement for maintaining the operation of the e-store. The SAM4S FORZA cash register system was chosen because it is more convenient in terms of dimensions and better suited to working with customers in a clothing store.
Digital transformation contributed to improvements in the company's core business processes:
- modern cash register system with barcode scanner for faster and more accurate customer service;
- convenient and fast, unified inventory of goods and analysis of this data for making business decisions in the warehouse management program;
- synchronization of both systems and the e-store with a single principle of organization of goods and their parameters reduces the possibility of human errors and the need for repeated manual actions.
The digital development and transformation project was implemented with EU financial support.
