"Business development is not a luxury; it is an important daily component and necessity for every company. For a company to stand still steadily, it must run very fast." This is stated in the foreword of the Latvian State Business Development Platform.
As the customer base of Bikšu Bāze grew, the variety of clothing expanded, and the online store developed, the volume of daily operations also increased. Therefore, we began to explore making the clothing store's work "smarter" and transferring it to the computer - connecting all existing systems, as well as automating the simplest and repetitive manual tasks. To start digital development, transformation, modernize SIA “Graudu lietus” retail store “Bikšu Bāze” and the e-store www.biksubaze.lv, and digitize and standardize existing core business processes, we began searching for information and evaluating the experience of other companies. During the research process, we learned about the European Union's support for business development and digital transformation.
Digital transformation project goals:
* implement an electronic cash register system with barcode scanner and specialized warehouse system;
* ensure accurate and fast sales data registration;
* digitize warehouse stock accounting;
* use product labels with barcodes;
* digitally connect the e-shop with the warehouse system.
Supplier selection criteria:
* offered price;
* functionality compatibility with the Shopify e-shop;
* real-time data updating in the system.
Chosen solution and project result:
The solution from SIA “IBSC” – RESICO V1 5.0 cash register system and RESICO warehouse system with software – was chosen as the most suitable for Bikšu Bāze's needs because Resico is the cheapest and most appropriate for business needs. The warehouse system allows assigning variations (size, color) to products, which is a mandatory requirement for maintaining the e-shop operation. The SAM4S FORZA cash register device was chosen because its size is more convenient and better suited for working with customers in a clothing store.
Digital transformation promoted improvements in the company's core business processes:
- modern cash register system with barcode scanner for faster and more accurate customer service;
- convenient and fast, unified product accounting and analysis of this data for business decision-making in the warehouse management program;
- synchronization of both systems and the e-shop with a unified principle for organizing products and their parameters reduces the possibility of human error and the need for repeated manual operations.
Digital development and transformation project implemented with EU financial support.
Support amount €4,924.10.
